Port Operative

Cowes Harbour Commission is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and disciplined individual to join its busy Kingston Marine Services team, afloat and ashore.

Duties will include:

- Assisting in the construction and deployment of moorings systems, navigation and race buoys.

- Being part of the team delivering a wide range of marine services in Cowes Harbour and the Solent.

- Assisting in the boatyard operations.

- Patrol and escort duties during large events.

- Emergency response duties in case of Harbour incidents.

We are looking for a breadth of experience that may include:

- Engineering, welding, boat handling, commercial sea time, crane and banksman operations, small plant and machinery competency. Local knowledge an advantage.

- Maritime, fabrication and engineering qualifications are desirable but not essential.

- 39 hours per week usually on a 5 day rota, some weekends and bank holidays.
