New to the Isle of Wight this year is an exciting opportunity to bring tourism to the Island as well as the Christmas spirit!
With expectations high, organisers are busy planning lots of attractions to provide visitors with a bustling atmosphere, with wonderful Christmas gifts, sights, sounds and much, much more.
The Isle of Wight Christmas Market will be open from 1 - 23 December in the grounds of the Isle of Wight Military History Museum, which is on the main A3020 road between Newport and Cowes.
There will be beautiful wooden trading cabins, inspired by the designs of the traditional markets of Germany and Austria, and an authentic purpose built indoor ‘Dickensian High Street’. In addition, an open air synthetic skating rink, Santa’s Grotto and a heated outdoor garden are sure to enhance the Christmas experience even more.
The ice skating rink will be open not just through the pre-Christmas period but also on Boxing Day and right up until New Year's Day.
Whether you choose to spend the day on and around the ice rink and in the heated gardens, with their traditional hog roasts, German bratwurst, hot chocolate vendors and fully licensed bar, in the middle of the log trading cabins and live music bandstands, or strolling through the unique indoor Dickensian High Street’s shops, organisers aim to ensure your Yuletide experience will be one to repeat time after time.
