To coincide with the next Cowes Heritage exhibition "Cowes in the Fifties", a new book has been produced entitled The Shops of Cowes.
Available at the exhibition at a cost of £10.00, The Shops of Cowes chronicles the history of premises from Birmingham Road to the Parade in Cowes, As well as listing the many changes that have occurred, it is full of fascinating old photos, invoices and adverts recapturing times gone by. The book also lists up-to-date information. This new publication is all thanks to the hard work of John and Maureen Groves, assisted by members of Cowes Heritage.

There will be lots to see covering every aspect of Cowes and the surrounding district during the 1950s as well as national events such as the Coronation and the Festival of Britain.
