Notice is hereby given that a Round the Isle of Wight swim will take place on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 July 2026.

This will be a non-stop ‘relay’ event with multiple swimmers but with only one person in the water at any one time. The swimmers will also be accompanied by a kayaker, a RIB and an escort yacht, the ‘Rum Jungle’, a 23m motor vessel MMSI number 235014165. A listening watch will be maintained on VHF Ch16 and Ch12 throughout.

The route is from Bembridge in a westerly direction, leaving the Isle of Wight to port. The swim will start at 1200 on Tuesday 7 July, with the swimmers passing Cowes Harbour between approximately 1530 and 1700. A listening watch on VHF Ch69 will be maintained whilst in the vicinity of the Cowes Harbour limits. All Ships calls on VHF Ch69 will be made when the swimmer enters the Cowes Harbour limits, and again when they are crossing the harbour entrance. A CHC patrol vessel will also be providing an escort.

The swim will be complete by approximately 1200 at Bembridge on Wednesday 8 July.

All mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass well clear of the swimmers and the support craft during their circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight.
