All Cowes Harbour annual mooring holders should have received an invitation to renew their mooring for 2018, and we would be grateful if you could please return the annual licence renewal form to us as soon as possible.

• Please note that annual mooring renewal payments are due by Friday, 5th January 2018.

If we don’t hear from you by 5th January, we will assume that you are planning to relinquish your mooring for 2018, but we would really appreciate it if you could let us know before the end of December.

Meanwhile, we would like to update you on the situation with regard to the Outer Harbour Project and main harbour moorings area.

As stated last year, several yachts on main harbour moorings will need to be re-located when the Outer Harbour Project infrastructure, and Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) led marina works in East Cowes commence.

Our October 2017 newsletter reported that the ‘Harbour Infrastructure Funding Agreement’ between CHC, the developer of the HCA led Victoria Quay marina in East Cowes, and the HCA, has been further delayed. Therefore, the Eastern Channel dredge and Shrape extension have been postponed and will not be carried out this winter.

Over the last month, CHC has had meetings with a number of parties with a view to finalising the ‘Harbour Infrastructure Funding Agreement’ in the New Year. However, this means that the main harbour moorings can now remain in place for most or all of the 2018 season. CHC reserves the right to re-locate a number of the main harbour moorings before the end of the 2018 season, if the harbour infrastructure and HCA-led marina works go ahead. In this case, the mooring holders concerned would be offered an alternative mooring on our pontoon at Whitegates at no additional cost for the remainder of the year. We will endeavour to keep harbour users fully informed as the project progresses.
