Trinity Landing Improvement Works to Begin 9 November

Cowes Harbour Commission will begin a programme of improvement and maintenance works at Trinity Landing on Monday 9 November 2026, with completion currently expected by 15 January 2027.

The works will focus on replacing the existing decking, which has become worn and damaged in places, with new anti-slip Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) floor grating. This will provide an improved, safer walking surface for those using the landing.

Alongside the decking replacement, the project will also include inspections and repairs to the supporting framework, where required, together with the assessment and potential replacement of the water hose and rerouting of electrical cables. Any damaged cleats will also be replaced as part of the maintenance programme.

Phased approach to the works

The works will begin at the northernmost section of Trinity Landing, with the project progressing in phases. Approximately half of the pontoon will be taken out of use at any one time, allowing safe access to the remaining section while work is underway.

Safety fencing and warning signs will be installed around the active work areas. These restricted areas must not be accessed by members of the public while the works are taking place.

Important safety information for harbour users

Cowes Harbour Commission would like to remind all vessel operators and water users to observe the 6-knot speed limit and no-wash requirements when navigating in Cowes Harbour, particularly when passing Trinity Landing.

Minimising vessel wash is essential to help maintain safe working conditions for contractors carrying out the improvements.

Cowes Harbour Commission will monitor progress through regular site meetings and share further updates as the works progress. The programme may be subject to change as the existing decking is removed and the condition of the underlying structure becomes clearer.

We thank harbour users, customers and the wider Cowes community for their patience and cooperation while these important improvements are carried out.
