Stop Press – Free Water Taxi Service from East Cowes to CHC Annual Public Meeting

CHC’s operators Cowes Water Taxis have agreed to work with CHC to provide a free water taxi service for stakeholders in East Cowes wishing to attend CHC’s Annual Public Meeting in Cowes on Thursday evening, 23rd May 2019.

The free water taxi service will operate between East Cowes Marina and the Island Sailing Club between 1800hrs and 2100hrs. Harbour users wanting to use this service should contact Cowes Water Taxis either on VHF Ch6 or by mobile on 07551 431993.

CHC is providing this free water taxi service to encourage a greater attendance from East Cowes based harbour users.

All are invited to Cowes Harbour Commission’s (CHC’s) Annual Public Meeting on Thursday, 23rd May at 7pm at the Island Sailing Club in Cowes. The Meeting is designed to give stakeholders information on what CHC has achieved over the past 12 months, report on the challenges and opportunities facing the harbour and outline plans for the future.

As a Trust Port, Cowes Harbour serves a wide range of stakeholders and these include anyone with an interest in the harbour, including harbour users, Island residents, local communities and environmental groups, local authorities, as well as local and national politicians. Cowes Harbour Commission’s top priority is at all times to maintain a safe harbour. Plus, by working together with stakeholders, CHC aims to fulfil the harbour and River Medina’s potential by delivering first-class port facilities and leisure services, and by acting as the main transport and shipping gateway supporting the Island’s economy and employment.

As well as a presentation on the performance of Cowes Harbour from 2018-19, the Annual Public Meeting provides stakeholders with the opportunity for questions and discussion on any aspects of port activities and development. CHC looks forward to welcoming all stakeholders to the Meeting on 23rd May at the Island Sailing Club, starting at 7pm.
