Following the visit to Cowes in April of the Nao Victoria, an authentic wooden replica of the ship that first sailed around the world, this May also saw a visit from the Caravel Boa Esperança. The Boa Esperança is a replica of the famous Portuguese ship that seafarer Bartolomé Díaz took beyond the limits of Atlantic navigation in 1488, passing through the Cape of Good Hope and opening the route towards the East. Then on 11th May, the elegant cruise ship Le Boreal called at Cowes for passengers to enjoy a day on our beautiful Island. 

Both the Nao Victoria and the Caravel Boa Esperança moored at Trinity Landing, which is located 100m south of No. 1 fairway buoy in Cowes Harbour and is also used by tenders from visiting cruise ships to land their passengers.
