Your essential guide to Cowes Harbour

Production has started on next year’s Handbook, led by our new editor, Cowes-based publishing consultant and boat builder Martin Nott, who is working closely with Cowes Harbour Commission (CHC) and Horizon Publishing.

The annual Handbook is just one of the ways in which CHC works proactively to promote Cowes – the maritime gateway to the Isle of Wight – and the world’s most famous sailing destination.

Renamed the Cowes Harbour Handbook for 2017 to better reflect the publication’s role as the definitive guide to the harbour, Cowes, East Cowes and the River Medina, proposed developments for the 2017-18 edition include: a “What’s new in Cowes” section, expanded information on High Street and marine businesses, plus an in-depth focus on marine expertise in the harbour. There are also exciting plans to enhance the online version of the Handbook with bonus interactive content for readers and new digital features for advertisers.

Editor Martin Nott said: “Building on the success of this year’s publication, the 2017-18 Cowes Harbour Handbook will have significantly more information on Cowes and East Cowes based town and maritime businesses. These additions, along with other planned improvements, will make the Handbook even more useful for visitors to Cowes and Islanders.”

Horizon Publishing’s Director Marco Dipinto added: “We continue to work hard to ensure the Handbook maintains its position and relevance as the most comprehensive guide to Cowes Harbour.

“Advertising sales for next year have just started, so if you would like to promote your business in print and online, then do get in touch and we look forward to going through the options available and providing the tailored solution that’s best for your business.”

For the first time ever and due to unprecedented demand, almost all of the 15,000 Handbooks printed this year were distributed by the end of August! However, the Harbour Office still has a limited stock, and you can also view, print, or download a free copy of the Handbook from the CHC website.

Meanwhile, we were pleased to supply our Handbooks to Visit Isle of Wight and Destination Cowes for use at the recent World Travel Market (WTM) in London; you can read more about the WTM in our November Newsletter article.
